Toby Hodges from Yachting World tours the Vaan R5
During the International Multihull Boatshow in La Grande Motte, France, Toby Hodges from Yachting World toured the Vaan R5. A very insightfull tour by an industry legend.
Some interesting quotes:
- “They’re meant to be nice to sail first and foremost. Naval architecture is done by Dykstra, one of the most renowned Dutch naval architects in the world.”
- “It’s something to factor in as well because, you know, safety. See there’s a lot more floating objects. There are rocks everywhere. There are containers and that sort of thing. So that would give a lot of peace of mind with a yacht like this… So it’s not just for people that are going expedition style sailing. It could also be for the med or it could be yeah Atlantic or Northern Europe.”
- “So it’s a quiet yacht to be aboard.”
- “So here you get a good idea the amount of space… I mean it’s extraordinary. It’s only a 49 footer!”
- “It’s all very very high-end luxury style, premium type finish to it, real feeling of high-end design on here as well”
- “Lots of natural light and headroom throughout […] and that gives this impression of space. It’s phenomenal.“
